Your Compact

The Gloucestershire Compact is an agreement between key local public sector agencies (including county and district authorities) and the voluntary and community sector, to support and improve partnership working between the sectors. 

The Compact aims to make improvements to the way the two sectors work together and work towards:

  • Less unnecessary bureaucracy for voluntary and community groups in applying for and managing funding

  • A more level playing field for all partners

  • Clearer and more meaningful consultation processes which allow all sections of the community to influence priorities

  • Greater transparency and accountability in all areas of public life

  • More co-operation and less duplication across all statutory and voluntary and community organisations

  • More informed decision-making resulting in better and more appropriate services for the people of Gloucestershire
