The Project
The Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) Putting People First Project was set up by the Gloucestershire Association for Voluntary and Community Action (GAVCA) and is funded by the Gloucestershire County Council to support Voluntary and Community Organisations to be a an active part of the Putting People First Programme.
The VCS Assembly Team PPF Development Worker will be working to ensure that
- the voice of the sector is effectively represented in the planning and implementation of this programme in the county;
- voluntary and community organisations delivering social care services are aware of the PPF agenda and are adequately equipped to implement it;
To get these done, the development worker will:
- engage in regular outreach to individuals and organisations delivering adult social care service in the voluntary and community sector to create an awareness of the PPF programme, understand the issues and identify support gaps
- support VCS organisations to fill identified gaps through training provision, network meetings, conferences, information sharing and other ways that might be requested
- make regular representation to relevant bodies and forums to communicate VCS views on the PPF programme
- provide regular updates to the Gloucestershire VCS Health and Community Wellbeing Strategy group and the wider VCS
- support the VCS Putting People First reference group of interested VCS groups to enhance effective representation and support for groups.
