Public Health Report highlights health challenges for Gloucestershire

Find out what NHS Glos’ commissioning priorities will be for the coming year for services to children and young people

Invaluable background for anyone working with children, young people and families, and will really help with grant/tender applications.!!

The Director of Public Health Annual Report from NHS Gloucestershire has been published. This year’s report takes the form of individual briefings, some focus on a geographic locality, some on a particular topic or theme, and it will inform service commissioners and providers where, how and what services are provided

The report highlights the key issues for Gloucestershire as being

  • its ageing population.
  • significant areas of deprivation – with differences in life expectancy of seven years for women and eight years for men between areas of affluence and deprivation.
  • increasing immunisation rates

Read the report here.

Of particular interest to CYP organisations will be ‘Health Lifestyle Choices for Children and Young people, which gives a brilliant overview of the key health issues affecting Children and Young People, and the likely commissioning priorities for NHS Glos in the coming period.
