Key messages from the VCS Safer and Stronger Communities Strategy Group meeting on Monday 6 October.

Issues discussed included:

  • the effect of potential policy and funding changes on grassroots service providers and the communities they serve

  • planned changes in the structure and make up of the working groups feeding into Gloucestershire Safer and Stronger Communities Partnership and the importance of VCS representation on these

  • Gloucestershire being a ‘safe’ county in terms of crime and the importance of communicating this positive message

The group is also seeking views on the draft Gloucestershire County Council Community Cohesion Strategy, which summarises the County Council’s approach to maintaining community cohesion in Gloucestershire.  Download the draft strategy here.
