Gloucestershire Infrastructure Group (GIG)
The Gloucestershire Infrastructure Group (GIG) is a partnership of 10 key development agencies which support more than 1,500 voluntary and community groups across Gloucestershire.
Why does Gloucestershire need an infrastructure Group?
To help create a more effective voluntary sector in Gloucestershire by delivering ChangeUp. In doing so supporting infrastructure groups to support front line voluntary and community groups.
What is ‘ChangeUp’?
ChangeUp is a government initiative to modernise infrastructure agencies and to ensure that by 2014 the needs of frontline voluntary and community organisations in England will be met by support which is:

available nationwide

structured for maximum efficiency

offering excellent provision
-
accessible to all
-
truly reflecting and promoting diversity

sustainably funded
This programme is now supported by Capacity Builders who are a Non-departmental Public Body (NDPB) and were set up to manage the ChangeUp process and work with other funders to support it. For more information see the CapacityBuilders website.
GIG has a strategic vision and a 3 year business plan which aims to continue to deliver the Change Up agenda.
