What is the Gloucestershire VCS Assembly?
The VCS Assembly exists to help voluntary and community groups in Gloucestershire share their views and expertise to influence how services are planned and delivered for the communities of Gloucestershire through a countywide structure that provides a strategic voice for the Sector. The VCS Assembly is rooted in the belief that collective action is more influential than a series of individual voices, and that co-operation between people generates shared strength through a pooling of energy, ideas and resources.
The VCS Assembly provides:
- Opportunities for groups to come together to form a collective view about particular issues such as mental health or domestic abuse
- VCS representation on countywide strategic partnerships and working groups
- Information services to enable people in the VCS to information they need to become engaged in strategic issues and policy development.
The VCS Assembly is supported by a Board of Representatives who each bring the collective experience and views of either a geographical or thematic network or sub-sector of the local VCS.
Being involved can get you heard
If you have any concerns, issues or great ideas, the VCS Assembly can help you be heard by decision makers in the county. You can also network and share ideas with other Voluntary and Community Organisations (VCOs).
Make it Work for You!
All voluntary and community groups in Gloucestershire are automatically members of the VCS Assembly.
Becoming more informed can increase your influence and strengthen your organisation. The VCS Assembly aims to keep VCOs informed so that you, and the people you work with, know what is going on in the county and how to have your say. A great way to be kept up to date is to sign up to the regular weekly Gloshub e-bulletin.
